The six million dollar man. The return of the bionic woman. Quotes.
OSCAR: Last in "The Six Million Dollar Man": Steve Austin was reunited with his childhood sweetheart Jaime Sommers. When she was heavily injured, Steve persuaded Oscar Goldman to make Jaime into the world's first bionic woman. Steve and Jaime were planning to marry but then something went wrong.
RUDY: "Jaime's body is rejecting her bionics. We've got to operate immediately".
OSCAR: Jaime was diving to new matters by terrible pain. Steve pursued her into the night.
OSCAR: For Steve Austin and the world Jaime was dead. But was she?
OSCAR: Now, "The return of the bionic woman" on "The Six Million Dollar Man".
STEVE: Jaime, Jaime! Jaime! Jaime?
RUDY: Steve, Steve, now take it easy.
STEVE: Rudy?
RUDY: That's right.
STEVE: Where is Jaime? I saw Jaime. I saw her. Jaime...
OSCAR: Steve...
STEVE: Oscar, I saw her again.
OSCAR: Saw who?
STEVE: Jaime. She was in that bed.
STEVE: Jaime...
OSCAR: Steve, what is it?
STEVE: I saw her, Oscar. It's up to you. Now, tell me where she is. I saw Jaime today, alive, talking. I thought she was dead. You already believed she was dead. You've got five seconds to tell me what's going on.
OSCAR: Steve, listen to me.
STEVE: Five seconds!
OSCAR: All right. It's Jaime. She is alive.
STEVE: Then, what happened in that operating room? I saw her die.
RUDY: Ok. Ok, Steve. By medical definitions all of her functions terminated.
STEVE: Then, what happened?
RUDY: I'll tell you. When you were saying the last goodbye's to Jaime, we were approached by one of my young assistants, doctor Michael Machetti.
MICHAEL: I was up in the theater. I saw what happened. Rudy, I think I can save her.
OSCAR: Maybe you weren't watching closely. Jaime is dead, Michael.
MICHAEL: Look, Rudy. The cryogenic research I've been doing...
RUDY: Michael, that's years away.
MICHAEL: No, it's not! It works! Let me try to save Jaime.
OSCAR: She's dead, pal. She's dead.
MICHAEL: Look, where's the line drawn? The heart stops, but the brain keeps functioning till the lack of oxygen won't allow it to. It kkeps working for several minutes sometimes, these minutes we're wasting now!
OSCAR: Is there anything what he says?
MICHAEL: Of course, there is. I've hit 90% sucess with the rhesus monkeys.
RUDY: This is a human being, It's such a radical procedure.
MICHAEL: Radical? He just said Jaime's dead. She's certainly got nothing to lose. Please, Rudy, let me try. Please!
RUDY: All right, let's try. Better tell Steve.
STEVE: But you never told me, Oscar. Why? Why?
OSCAR: Try to understand. It was an incredible long shot. You saw her die once already.
RUDY: Steve, we didn't know she was gonna live. It was the most intrincate, the most complicated surgery I've ever been a part of. We did as Michael had said, working at an impossible pace. The heart-lung machine was attached to Jaime to keep her blood oxygenated and try to ward off brain damage. Michael prepared for the cryogenic biochemistry. We hoped to maintain Jaime's cerebral cell integrity with nominal side effects until her normal circulation could be restored. We lowered the temperature in the OR until our fingers were getting numb. While we worked to relieve the cerebral hemorrhage, Michael administered his cryogenic therapy. A cooling agent to further retard the body's metabolism combined with poweful anti-toxins to ward off celullar damage. I've never been more proud od my team. We know we would be on the threshold of a whole new era in medical science if Michael's theories were succesful, if Jaime came back to life. An now, we were ready for the final test. We watched her heart start again. We were jubilant!
STEVE: And I would have been too if I've this been told. I can't believe it!
RUDY: Steve, she's very inestable. She's a coma for a long time.
OSCAR: Rudy and Michael almost lost their faith on several ocassions.
RUDY: What have been do on brain damage crush? , she's very inestable. She's a coma for a long time.
STEVE: Just tell me where she is. I want to see her now..
RUDY: She is only barely conscious. We don't know exactly what her condition is.
STEVE: Oscar, just let me see her. Just to say hello. Please.
RUDY: Ok.
STEVE: Jaime... Jaime...
JAIME: Who are you?
OSCAR: I'm sorry, Steve. We all are. We were afraid that this might happen.
STEVE: What happened to her?
RUDY: Well, Michael's cryogenic therapy to save her life managed to prevent major brain damage but there was some.
STEVE: Brain damage?
RUDY: Yes. Hi, Michael. How is she?
MICHAEL: She is resting.
STEVE: Will her memory ever return?
RUDY: No.
MICHAEL: Maybe.
RUDY: I can't honestly say it would hurt Jaime more than help.
STEVE: The most important thing now is to take Jaime back on her feet.
MICHAEL: I agree.
STEVE: Tell me something, Michael. How's Jaime like?
MICHAEL: She is Jaime but with no memory.
OSCAR: Steve, we've got to get you back in your shape. Let's work on those legs.
RUDY: Only thrty feet. Come on! Let's get back to work. Keep your mind in your work.
STEVE: Yeah, yeah, ok.
OSCAR: I need your help. Jaime's strength is coming back. All of it. I'd like you to talk to her. Try to make her understand.
STEVE: Sure. I'll do anything I can.
MICHAEL: Ehem!
JAIME: Hi, Michael.
MICHAEL: Hi.
JAIME: It's pretty incredible, isn't it?
MICHAEL: Yes, it is.
JAIME:Are there many people that are bionic?
MICHAEL: Only you and Steve.
JAIME: Who's Steve?
STEVE: I am. I am Steve.
JAIME: Hi. Haven't I seen you before? Was a few days ago.
STEVE: Yeah, a few days ago.
JAIME: Right. You walked in just as I was waking up, and you looked at me so strangely.
STEVE: Yeah, well, it was a shock learning that you were still alive.
JAIME: Mmm. Well, I wouldn't be if it weren't for Michael. Did you know me before? And we were friends?
STEVE: Yeah, we were friends.
JAIME: And you're bionic? Would you show me? Oh, please I mean, it's wonderful but scares me a little, too. And I guess I'd just feel more comfortable knowing there was someone else like me. Yeap. That's bionic. Okay, kid, you're in.
STEVE: Thanks.
MICHAEL: Well, I'll let you two get acquainted.
JAIME (to MICHAEL): But you'll be around, huh?
MICHAEL: Oh, yes.
STEVE: Are you all right?
JAIME: Yeah (Clears throat). How long have you been bionic?
STEVE: Huh, about three years.
JAIME (to STEVE): I so feel strange around new people.
STEVE: I understand.
JAIME: All is so incredible.
STEVE: It must be hard for you. I'll be your friend, Jaime.
JAIME: Good.
STEVE (to JAIME): What's the matter?
JAIME: Oh! Look over there... He's so cute.
MICHAEL: Ten laps. No, no. Ten more laps.
JAIME (to STEVE): I'm on strike today. There's no work. Can we go for a walk? It's so peaceful here. Steve, you're my friend. Tell me honestly. What do you think of Michael?
STEVE: I like him.
JAMIE: Me too. Can we go to the town?
STEVE (to JAIME): Sure. Are you alright? Jaime? Jaime!
JIM (to STEVE): Where did she go?
STEVE: She must go to town. I've got to stop her.
STEVE: Good night.
JAMIE: Good night.
STEVE (to JIM): She's resting quietly.
JAIME: No!
STEVE: Jaime, what's the matter?
JAIME: It's just pain in my head.
STEVE (to a nurse): Call doctor Wells and doctor Marchetti.
JAIME: I think I've got to leave Ojai, Steve. I have to work, I have to keep my mind on new things.
MICHAEL: Steve, I feel a little guilty.
STEVE: I don't blame you.
MICHAEL (to JAIME): Take care.
JAIME: I will.
MICHAEL: Ready to go?
JAIME: Yes. (to STEVE): Hi! I was looking for you.
STEVE: Miss you too.
JAIME: Goodbye.
STEVE: Goodbye.
